Getting Started

  • Franchise Ninja leverages AI to build custom plans for strategy, messaging, and execution, so brands can pinpoint and engage high-potential franchise candidates.

    We are not:

    • An ad agency

    • A creative agency

    • A franchise broker

    • A franchise portal

    • A franchise or advertising consultant

  • Franchise Ninja supports franchise brands by identifying prospects searching for business ownership, but we are not a lead generation platform.

    What does this mean?

As brands implement the data-driven strategies, compliance support, targeted campaigns, and ongoing optimizations outlined in the Franchise Growth Plan, more qualified candidates will be identified and moved into the sales funnel.

With monthly updates and consistent execution, brands should see a measurable increase in both the volume and quality of leads generated.

  • No. You’ll have 10 days to review your Franchise Growth Plan. When you are ready to move forward, meet with your Product Ninja. You’ll then have full access to your Franchise Growth Plan via the Franchise Ninja Platform.

  • No. We are not a marketing agency. The data you have access to by using Franchise Ninja should be shared with your marketing team or agency to enhance and refine your existing marketing efforts.

  • Yes! We encourage you to share this data with your marketing team - either external or internal! Please bring members of your marketing team to training so they can understand how to use and access the data!

  • Each brand must have their own license for the data. Reach out to one of our Product Ninjas to discuss special pricing for multiple franchise brands.

Understanding the Data

  • You do. All data is first-party data — fully accessible and exportable anytime.

  • Yes! We are happy to show you, your Fran Dev team, and your marketing agency the best way to utilize the data to maximize its impact on your franchise development efforts.

  • Yes. Franchise Ninja is 100% privacy compliant, ensuring all candidate data is handled securely.

  • Data is compiled by analyzing publicly available Franchise Disclosure Documents (FDDs), which provide detailed information about franchisors, their business operations, financial performance, and franchisee experiences.

This data is enriched with industry expertise to interpret and contextualize the information accurately. Additionally, large language models (LLMs) are used to generate the right questions and extract deeper insights, ensuring a comprehensive and precise understanding of the data. This combination of sources and technologies helps create a robust and reliable dataset.

  • Yes, Franchise Ninja is 100% compliant and privacy-safe. All data is sourced through approved channels with full respect for user consent and platform policies.

  • We combine three powerful sources:

    • Your Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD): Core brand, operational, and financial data.

    • Industry Expertise: Insights from franchise development professionals and market specialists.

    • AI Intelligence: Multiple large language models (LLMs) that process data, ask the right questions, and generate clear, actionable prompts.

Together, these inputs create a comprehensive, AI-powered foundation for your franchise development marketing.

AI and Data Privacy

  • We leverage third-party platforms. However, we only use paid services, not free ones. This changes the data and licensing usage so that our prompts and any data we utilize are not shared publicly, nor will they be sold or disclosed to third parties except for trusted service providers or when required by law. The third-party platforms we use act as data processors. This means your data is processed securely and governed by strict terms, including a Data Processing Addendum for business customers.

  • All data provided under this arrangement is licensed on a perpetual basis. This means that, in the event our partnership concludes, you are not required to remove or discontinue use of the licensed data.

  • Data is protected with enterprise-grade encryption at rest and in transit, with automatic deletion policies for uploaded files and comprehensive admin visibility through audit logs.

We retain full ownership of our Input and Output data, and the third-party platforms cannot use or authorize others to use that proprietary data beyond fulfilling service obligations or legal compliance.

  • Due to the enterprise-level service agreements we have with third-party platforms, those platforms will not use your organization's inputs or outputs to train, retrain, fine-tune, or otherwise improve their own AI models.

  • All data provided under this arrangement is licensed on a perpetual basis. The third-party platforms we use claim no ownership rights over the output from Franchise Ninja.

  • Via the third-party platforms we utilize, we can ensure we own all outputs, and they provide us an IP indemnity with limitations, and take steps to minimize but not absolutely guarantee against infringement risk.

  • Franchise Ninja can quickly adjust models. Since we focus 100% on franchise development, you can expect any external (government or other) change to be implemented quickly, and a full feedback loop from our customers.

If/when the agreement ends, you have a perpetual license for the data. Meaning you can continue using it. We would then shut down your logins and remove the appropriate data. Some data becomes part of the "aggregate" data set but is not identifiable to your organization.

  • Yes. The terms with our third-party platform state that customer content (including Input and Output generated from your data) will not be used to train, retrain, fine-tune, or otherwise improve any generative AI models. We can explicitly prohibit the system from learning or fine-tuning based on proprietary franchise data.

  • They employ a robust combination of technical controls, organizational policies, and compliance practices to ensure AI models remain accurate, unbiased, and secure for their users and business clients. These controls cover data privacy, internal search processes, model bias prevention, and cutting-edge security infrastructure to protect sensitive content and maintain trust.

Candidates, Audiences, and Campaigns

  • A Custom Audience is a targeted advertising segment created by an advertiser using their own data sources. This allows advertisers to reach specific groups of users who have already interacted with their business or are part of a defined customer list. Custom Audiences are widely used in digital advertising platforms such as Facebook Ads, Google Ads, and others.

Data sources for Custom Audiences can include website visitors, app users, email subscribers, or customer lists (such as email addresses or phone numbers).

Utilizing Custom Audiences enables advertisers to re-engage existing customers, upsell, cross-sell, or exclude current customers from certain campaigns.

Data is typically hashed and anonymized to protect user privacy.

    Here is an example:

A retailer uploads a list of past purchasers’ email addresses to a platform like Facebook Ads to show them a new product promotion.

You can find more information on Audience Targeting in the Franchise Education Center.

  • A Licensed Custom Audience refers to a custom audience segment that is created using third-party data, which has been legally obtained and licensed for advertising purposes. This is distinct from standard custom audiences, which use first-party data owned by the advertiser.

Data sources for Licensed Custom Audiences are sourced from data providers or brokers who collect and license audience segments (e.g., demographic, behavioral, or interest-based data).

Licensed Custom Audiences must comply with data privacy laws and platform policies, ensuring that the data is collected and shared with proper user consent.

Licensed Custom Audiences allow advertisers to target new potential customers who fit specific criteria but are not already in their own customer database.

    Here is an example:

A car dealership uses a licensed custom audience from a data provider to target people in their area who are in-market for a new vehicle, even if those people have never interacted with the dealership before.

You can find more information on Audience Targeting in the Franchise Education Center.

  • Custom Audiences use your own customer data (like emails or website visitors) for ad targeting and retargeting.

Licensed Custom Audiences, on the other hand, are pre-built audience segments sourced from third-party data providers, allowing you to reach new, privacy-compliant groups you don’t already have data for.

You can find more information on Audience Targeting in the Franchise Education Center.

  • Traffic ads should always be used with Franchise Ninja because we capture data based on how prospects engage with your website. Using Meta Lead Generation ads will not be effective with Franchise Ninja because they prompt the user to fill out a form directly within Facebook without engaging with your website.

  • Yes. You’ll need to set a budget for the ads you run to target the individuals in your In-Market campaign audience.

  • Yes! You should set a budget between $1,500 and $2,000 for each 35,000 credit campaign on Franchise Ninja. Do not combine your Franchise Ninja campaigns with other existing campaigns.

Lead Reactivation

  • Chasing down dormant leads is a time waster. Franchise Ninja takes the pain out of monitoring dormant leads.

Simply load your list of dormant leads to the Platform. We’ll monitor them and when a lead re-enters the In-Market Audience, we’ll send you a notification.

  • It’s a notification you receive when a dormant lead you’ve uploaded to the Platform starts researching business ownership again.

  • Yes. You’ll receive a separate Engaged Candidate Alert if they land on your site again so you can act fast.

  • No. Your uploaded leads are private to your brand. The only time another brand might see that lead is if the candidate visits their website.
